My history

Arlyn began riding at age nine and through her Junior & Amateur Owner years was fortunate to ride with and learn her basics from Brian Flynn while successfully showing in the hunter and equitation divisions. In 1976 and 1977 Arlyn had the opportunity to event through the Preliminary level. In 1979 Arlyn and her husband started her first small operation, Woodlock Farm, in Holliston, MA. In 1986, Woodlock Farm expanded to her newly constructed 30-stall facility with indoor arena in Sherborn, MA.

Arlyn continued her education with a focus on flatwork. During this time she worked with dressage Olympic medallist Dottie Morkis, Kathy Connelly, Renate Lansburgh, Belinda Nairn-Wertman and Ernst Bachinger of the Spanish Riding School. In 1995, Arlyn rode her horse Sedona to third place in NEDA High Score Award at 4th level and then competed at Prix St. Georges in Florida in 1996.

Arlyn sustained a life changing head trauma in 1997 leaving the left side of her body compromised. As she struggled to regain her riding skills, she realized that she could no longer make a horse do what she wanted. This began her journey, which resulted in her program of Stretch, Supple and Strengthen. Arlyn has relocated to the San Diego area where she freelances as a trainer/instructor.
